Modern Giris
Drawing Collection
Tea Stained Paper, Tracing Paper, Black Pens, Makeup
This series of drawings came together under the idea of femininity. A majority of the designs presented have a feel of tattoo work with flowers, hands, faces, and a few various other subjects. The idea for each individual drawing came out of the idea of women today; what they like, what they do, how they respond to life. Tracing paper is also used in this collection. Not only does tracing paper play a large role in the stages of producing a final image on the tea stained paper, it also gives the idea a sense of transparency. Seeing through the tracing paper into other images or pocking through holes in other images gives the collection layers. The use of makeup, blue mascara, gold foundations, and glitter shows the idea of what is considered feminine in today's society and enhances the idea of femininity throughout the drawings. The collection is also idea of myself and who I am as a person. By using images of myself in the drawings and using sayings that I enjoy, as well as including subjects such as pizza and snapchat, I am creating an sense of me as a person.
